The art of decorating a room using space planning, functional furniture
and classic architecture and style is a profession called Interior
Designing. When decorating a room the interior designer wants to achieve
a specific “feel” to the room. This could be done many different ways;
painting, new furniture or furniture placement, wallpapering or wall
texturing, lighting, drapes and accessories are all methods used when
decorating a room.
Although you do not need to hire a professional interior designer or
interior decorator to work on your space most people find that they do
not have the time, energy or skill levels needed to accomplish the exact
look they envisioned for their rooms. Most interior decorators and
interior designers have spent countless hours of professional schooling
to learn the skills of the trade that make hiring them much more
efficient than attempting to handle a large scale project on your home
by yourself.
While interior decorators will usually focus more on smaller changes
such as painting or wallpaper, window coverings and furnishings and
interior designer will be more familiar with architecture, wood working,
building or structural changes and room layout. A good interior designer
can help you will the really large room remodels that may require
structural changes.
